Obituary written & submitted by family:

Theresa Rose Farina

Theresa was born Theresa Rose Klote on July 5, 1932 in Edina, Missouri at the home of her parents Olive and Glenn Klote. She was the third oldest of eight children: older siblings Harold and Mary (deceased), younger siblings Lucille, Jean (deceased), Martha (deceased), Ruth and Paul.

After a happy childhood on the family farm, Theresa left Edina in 1950 to attend Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. She then was employed by the Illinois State Bank for several years. Through mutual friends, Theresa met Charles (Chuck) Farina from Melrose Park, Illinois. After a long distance courtship and many train rides, they were married on July 14, 1956. By then Theresa was more often called Terri by her husband and her many friends.

Terri and Chuck settled in Elmhurst, Illinois raising their four children and eventually moved to Franklin Park and then Roselle, Illinois. During this period She sold real estate for about 20 years, no doubt using her sharp mind, wit, warmth, and extroverted personality to close many deals.

During a visit to see their daughter Karen, Terri and Chuck decided to leave the Chicago area and head southwest for retirement in Temecula, California. Retirement life was active, enjoyable and relaxing for Terri and Chuck.

After Chuck’s passing in 2003, Terri remained in Temecula, staying physically active and socializing often with family and friends.

Terri’s family and friends are very grateful to the caregivers she had assisting her during her declining years, and the entire Vineyard Place staff.

“Mom” or Theresa to her family, Terri to her friends, she had a big smile and a sparkle in her eyes that lit up a room and made everyone around her smile…until her last day here on earth, October 30, 2019.

Survived by Terri are her daughters Donna (in New Jersey), Karen (in California), and her sons Mike and Jim (both in Arizona).

A “Celebration of Life” will be held in the near future, date to be announced. Please check for updates.
