Marilyn was a loving and highly dedicated mother and grandmother who always put her family before herself. Marilyn was born in Calgary, Alberta (Canada) where she lived her life up through her high school years. In 1963, she moved to Beaverton, Oregon with her family. There, she was actively involved as a district leader for the Campfire Girls and became a seamstress and then designer of wedding dresses. In 1983, Marilyn moved to Southern California where she entered into the business of designing drapery for Joanne’s Drapery in Huntington Beach. She subsequently started her own business, and expanded into the wider field of Interior Design. Her business, Designs by Marilyn, became very well known in the communities in and around Huntington Beach, and became the focus of several industry articles, and even gained notoriety in Architectural Digest. Marilyn spent the later part of her life enjoying quality time with her family, and taking care of her grand children. She is survived by her three daughters, Judy (Ron), Karen (Brian) and Maureen (Ken). She has 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Daryll), Brittany, Kyle, Brandon, and Travis, and one great grandson, Taylor and sister Elayne DeGraaff. Private services will be held by the family.
