Obituary

Karl Richard Earle was born on February 04, 1931 in Carthage, Missouri to Karl and Elma Earle. He went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2019 in Murrieta, California. He leaves behind Carol, his dear wife of 36 years, his children Julie Bowman (Bill), Doug Earle (Michele), Bobby Rounds (Carrie) and David Rounds (Linda), nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and friends all whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife Marjorie who he shared 24 years with, his father, mother and brother.

Karl's family headed out west from Missouri, relocating two times before settling in Pasadena, California. After high school he attended Pasadena City College. He served our country in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. His leadership and maturity led to him being promoted to Drill Sergeant, despite his young age, where he exceled at training new recruits.

Karl was always a hard worker with an exceptional work ethic. He worked his way up the ranks at Market Basket grocery store, starting as a box boy at 14-years-old and ending his grocery career as a store manager. He left the market and went to work for Bell Brand Foods where he spent over 30 years working in sales, management and inventory control before his well-deserved retirement in 1996.

He was a longtime resident of Temple City, where he and Marjorie raised their family. He married Carol in 1983 and they moved to La Verne where they spent 13 years before moving to The Colony in Murrieta after retirement.

Dedicated to his faith, Karl loved attending and serving in the church and was an integral part of the food pantry ministry at Murrieta United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, tending to his yard and rose bushes, reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and especially going to the movies.

Karl never met a stranger and his kindness, wisdom, optimism, faithfulness, integrity and dedication inspired all who were fortunate to know him. He was loved immensely by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Murrieta United Methodist Church on October 5th at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery.

An amazing person and I couldn’t have wished for a better father-in-law for my sister than Uncle Karl. I will always remember him singing “Oh come all he faithful” in church. He was a true classic. Loved him and honored to have known him.
