Obituary

Henry Clay Risner, known as Hank to his family and friends, was born in Delaware, Ohio on
August 27th, 1942 to Ann and Snowden Risner, both his parents were from Kentucky. He was
raised in Kenton, Ohio. Hank passed away at his home in Murrieta, CA on Sunday, September
15th, 2019. He leaves behind Jennifer, his beloved wife of 49 years, and his children he loved
dearly, daughters Angela Holly, Heather Kristen, sons Todd Clay and Travis Patrick,
granddaughter Rachel Encinas, sisters Karen Clevenger and Irma “Cookie” Browning, and
brother Danny Lewis and his wife Patti and many family members in Ohio and California.
He joined the Air Force in November 1960 and left for Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. After
training camp was stationed in Alaska for a year and then Havre Air Force Base in Montana for a
year doing electrical power production, he then transferred to March Air Force Base, honorably
discharged in 1965. He joined the IBEW Local 440, Riverside, CA completing 4 years
apprenticeship school in 1970. He loved serving in the Air Force and enjoyed his 50 plus years
in the IBEW and was proud to receive his 50-year pin in 2017.
His passions were raising roosters, playing the horses, hunting especially dove hunting and
enjoyed his dogs. He was an avid reader, especially history books, and loved traveling the
country and seeing all the historical spots he had read about.
He lived in California for many years, but he was an Ohio boy at heart, and was proud of his
hillbilly roots.
He loved is family and had many, many friends and always said he had a happy life!
Services will be held Friday, September 27th at 2:30pm at the Riverside National Cemetery. A
celebration of life will follow at Fairmount Park in Riverside, CA.

There are many things I'll remember about Hank, but the one that will always stay w/me was the last time I saw and spoke w/him. I went to visit him at the therapy hospital, threw on a light cotton dress as it was at least 102 degrees, when I walked into his room he looked at me plane as day and said "pretty dress Onie".....he always called me Onie, that was the last I spoke w/him. I will never forget that
